Time Off!

As the holidays are basically here, it is a great opportunity to take a bit of time off, relax, put your feet up and spend some time with your loved ones.  It´s also a great time to reflect on the year past and the year coming.    If you feel the time is right to make some changes to your life, a great thing to do over the holidays is to put pen to paper and write a list of what changes you would like to see together with a rough guideline of when you would like to see them happen.

I hope you all have a wonderful christmas and enjoy some well deserved time off!

Overcoming Procrastination

The only way that we can hope to overcome procrastination is when we learn to understand it - on face value it looks and sounds easy:-

- why are we delaying doing something
- just get on with it
- stop messing around

Procrastination is something that the majority of us have been guilty of at some time, some of us may be doing it quite often (with or without even thinking about it) but the effects it has on our lives can be quite catastrophic, specifically the impact that it can have on our thoughts.  You may be using procrastination to avoid another, more serious problem such as a phobia or that you may be suffering from excess stress, for example.

Why not talk to me today to find out how you can understand, and eventually overcome procrastination.

Stress and your health

Are you constantly restless, feeling a bit confused, perhaps not sleeping enough or maybe sleeping too much, anxious, short-tempered, angry and just generally feeling down.

Did you know that between 75% and 90% of all trips to the local doctor are stress related - that´s a huge statistic and sadly it is on the increase.

Stress relates to lots of different health problems, from lack of sleep, weight gain or loss, memory loss, heart and anxiety attacks.  Stress related illnesses are alarmingly on the increase in today´s society. Don´t become a statistic - deal with your stress levels now and get them back under control.

We can´t eliminate stress from our lives, more importantly we don´t want - some stress is very good and positive for us.  However, in order to maintain a "good level of stress" it is important to understand what your stress levels are.  As with everything, we are all individuals so the level of stress that is good for you may not be true for someone else.

There are easy exercises that we can do that can evaluate our stress levels and how we are dealing with them.  It is possible that you are under excess levels of stress right now but may not even be aware of it.  If you let your stress levels build beyond your control you could find that this has a domino type effect on everything else you are trying to deal with.

Don´t let it get that far - deal with it why you can.

If you think I can help, why not get in touch now and let´s talk!

Take a deep breath

When you can feel your stress levels rising why not take a few minutes to yourself, sit somewhere quiet and take a few long hard deep breaths. As you feel you stomach inflating and deflating as you take your breaths try to clear your mind.
